Choose your platform below, to find instructions on how to set up Hosted Newsletter. Threadloom currently supports Hosted Newsletter for XenForo 1.5.x, XenForo 2.1.x, XenForo 2.2+, vBulletin 3.8.x, and vBulletin 4.2.x.
XenForo 1.5+
- Log in to your XenForo admin panel.
- (recommended) Create a dedicated user account and sub-forum to post your Newsletter issues.
- To create a new user:
- On the top navbar, click on Users.
- On the left-hand side menu, select Users > Create New User.
- (required) User Name: <any name you like, e.g., PrimaryBot>
- (optional) Email: <you can leave this blank>
- (required) Password: <any password you like>
- Click Save User.
- To create a sub-forum:
- On the top navbar, click on Applications.
- On the left-hand side menu, select Node Tree > Create New Forum. You can enter any values you like for Title, Description, Parent Node, and Display Order. If you'd like help deciding, feel free to drop us a line.
- To create a new user:
- On the top navbar, click on Applications.
- On the left-hand side menu, select Feeder > Registered Feeds.
- In the upper right, click on Register New Feed.
- URL: <your RSS feed address from your Threadloom Portal>
- Fetch New Entries Every: 12 hours
- Posting User: Post as the following user: <select the user you created in Step 2 above>
- Destination Forum: <select the sub-forum you created in Step 2 above>
- Click Save Feed.
XenForo 2.1.x
- Log in to your XenForo admin panel.
- (recommended) Create a dedicated user account and sub-forum to post your Newsletter issues.
- To create a new user:
- Select Users > Create new user.
- (required) User name: <any name you like, e.g., PrimaryBot>
- (optional) Email: <you can leave this blank>
- (required) Password: <any password you like>
- Click Save User.
- Select Users > Create new user.
- To create a sub-forum:
- Select Forums > Nodes.
- In the upper right, click Add node.
- Node type: Forum
- Click Proceed.
- Enter any values you like for Title, Description, Parent Node, Display Order, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to drop us a line.
- To create a new user:
- Go to Forums > Thread content > RSS feed importer.
- In the upper right corner, click on Add feed.
- URL: <your RSS feed address from your Threadloom Portal>
- Fetch new entries every: 12 hours
- Posting user: Post as the following user: <select the user you created in Step 2 above>
- Destination forum: <select the sub-forum you created in Step 2 above>
- Click Save.
XenForo 2.2+
- Log in to your XenForo admin panel.
- (recommended) Create a dedicated user account and sub-forum to post your Newsletter issues.
- To create a new user:
- Select Users > Create new user.

- Select Users > Create new user.
- To create a sub-forum:
- Select Forums > Nodes.
- In the upper right, click Add node.
- Node type: Forum > General discussion
- Click Proceed.
- Enter any values you like for Title, Description, Parent Node, Display Order, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to drop us a line.
- To create a new user:
- Go to Forums > Thread content > RSS feed importer.
- In the upper right corner, click on Add feed.
- URL: <your RSS feed address from your Threadloom Portal>
- Fetch new entries every: 12 hours
- Posting user: Post as the following user: <select the user you created in Step 2 above>
- Destination forum: <select the sub-forum you created in Step 2 above>
- Click Save.
vBulletin 3.8.x and 4.2+
- Log in to your vBulletin admin panel.
- Navigate to RSS Feeds > Add New RSS Feed.
- Feed is Enabled: Yes
- Title: Hosted Newsletter RSS
- URL of Feed: <your RSS feed address from your Threadloom Portal>
- Check Feed Every: 12 Hours
- Maximum Items to Fetch: 1
- User Name: <you can leave this blank>
- Forum: <where you want to post the Newsletter>
- You may use the default values for any fields not mentioned here.
- Click Save.
